Instruction for using German Credit data in LRC 507 The reason we need this instruction is that a) the German Credit data does not automatically show up in the pre- existed libraries; b) in LRC 507 most data is stored on the network server and using the data across network in Enterprise Miner is very slow. Following the instructions below, you will not encounter any speed problem. You can similarly later on add more data files you need to the directory created. 1. Set up a sample directory locally e.g. "d:\My SAS Files\V8\EM Projects\sample" Usually when you run SAS and Enterprise Miner, the directory "d:\My SAS Files\V8\EM Projects\" will be automatically set up. 2. Copy the German Credit data from server drive N: "N:\NTApps\sas\Addon\dmine3\sample\dmagecr.*" 3. Run SAS s/w 4. Run Enterprise Miner a) click "Solutions" menu in SAS environment b) click "Analysis" entry c) click "Enterprise Miner" entry 5. Click "explorer window", then the tool buttons will change, select "new library" icon 6. Set the new library name to "sample" or whatever you like and set the path to your local sample directory 7. Start using the new library ... AND, if you are using SAS8/EM4.0 on your own computer, just omit the file-copying step and directly new a library with the path set to the directory where your German Credit data is.
